Inclusion & Special Education Needs – Centre For Excellence

Inclusion is at the heart of all we do here at Barnton Community Nursery and Primary school, as we get to know every child in our care.

We are a recognised Flagship Centre of Excellence for Inclusion, and strive to ensure that every child is able to reach their potential, and participate fully in the many learning experiences and opportunities that we offer, regardless of special educational need or disability. We are proud to be a School of Opportunity, where every child is supported and encouraged to achieve their full potential and to find their unique gifts and talents.

We are delighted to announce that in 2019, Barnton Community Nursery and Primary School won the National SEND Award for  Most Inclusive Practice, which reflects the extremely high standard of provision we achieve for each and every pupil.

If your child has additional needs, we will work with you to plan for them, and to liaise with other specialist services to ensure the highest standard of provision. We have a Primary Resource Provision which caters for children with complex needs in a nurturing and supportive environment.

Please contact the Inclusion Coordinator, who is always happy to discuss any concerns or queries that you may have.
